Top 10 Must-Have Accessories For Tesla Model 3 Owners

The Tesla Model 3 is one of Tesla's best-selling electric vehicles, and in my opinion, it offers the best value considering its price and range. While the car looks great in its stock form, adding personal touches to the interior and exterior can make the driving experience even more enjoyable. That's one of the great things about owning an EV—you can customize it exactly how you want. Whether you want to elevate your car's style, improve its performance, or maximize its protection, there's an accessory to suit every enthusiast. Having personally tested each of these accessories, I can confidently recommend them to any Tesla owner. After careful curation, I present my top 10 favorite must-have accessories for Tesla Model 3 owners.

10. Steering Lever Cover

Let's start with the retro-styled Godox Lux Master Flash. Drawing inspiration from 1950s camera flashes, it beautifully combines a classic folding fan-type reflector with modern technology. When Godox released this flash, I knew it would perfectly complement my Nikon Zf as I needed a new flash for my second camera body. The intuitive touchscreen makes it easy to adjust settings and select lighting modes. This flash supports multiple sync modes including TTL, High-Speed, Manual, and Front/Rear Curtain. A single charge delivers up to 460 full-power flashes. To sync with your camera, you'll need a flash trigger such as the X3 (https://geni.us/oZuSr). I also added the LM-R28 Reflector with Dome (https://geni.us/G7858D) for creating beautifully diffused, soft lighting on my subjects. I can’t wait to use this flash more for weddings and events!

9. Cybertrash Mini Trash Bin

The Cybertrash Mini Trash Bin is essential for every Tesla owner. Inspired by the Cybertruck's design, this sleek little bin offers ample storage for litter while keeping your car's interior spotless. It fits perfectly in either the cup holder or door storage compartment. The spring-loaded lid not only conceals waste from view but also contains any odors, and the bin is a breeze to empty and clean.

8. Armrest Cover

As someone who takes frequent road trips, comfort is a top priority—especially since I'm behind the wheel most of the time. That's why an armrest cover is essential for these long journeys. After trying both, I found the SHAOHAO armrest cover superior to Hansshow's version. It has such an OEM look that it appears to be factory-installed. While you might notice some initial creases when you first install it, they smooth out with use. The waterproof and dustproof material helps maintain its fresh appearance, and it provides excellent elbow support during long drives. Beyond comfort, it protects the center console from spills and dirt. Installation requires some effort due to the tight-fitting elastic straps at the bottom, but the results are worth it. Among all the armrest covers available, this one stands out for its visual and minimalistic appeal.

7. Steering Wheel Desk

This steering wheel desk is essential for long Tesla road trips. Perfect for eating or working in your car, it's conveniently compact and folds away when not in use. Setup is straightforward—just unfold it and rest one end on the door handle and the other on the center console. I particularly love its stable design and built-in circular drink holder. The carbon fiber surface ensures excellent durability and long-lasting quality for years.

6. Glassroof Sunshades

These glass roof sunshades from Amazon look perfectly OEM-matched and effectively prevent heat from seeping into my Tesla's interior. Installation can be tricky since it uses small clips that go under the interior pillars—they may occasionally come loose if not inserted properly. The sunshades match my car's white interior beautifully and keep the cabin cool on hot days.

5. Jowua 6D Invisible Foldaway Car Mount Qi2 Wireless Charger

After testing various wireless chargers and phone mounts for Tesla, I can confidently say the Jowua 6D wireless charger is the best. It features Qi2 Wireless Charging, delivering up to 15W of power for both iPhone and Android devices—significantly faster than standard wireless chargers. The strong magnets keep your phone secure even on bumpy roads, while the smooth silicone surface provides stable support for phones with cases. I love how thoughtfully designed it is: the L-shaped USB-C cable can be neatly hidden along the center console to the rear USB-C port. When not in use, the charger folds discreetly behind the screen. What really sets this charger apart is its versatility—it can be mounted in six different positions. With its extendable arm, adjustable base, and 360-degree swivel mount, switching between landscape and portrait modes is effortless. Plus, the suction cup makes installation and removal so easy. For anyone seeking a wireless charger, this is an absolute winner!

4. All Weather Floor Mats

All-weather floor mats are one of the first accessories most Tesla owners buy. They protect your car's interior from rain, beach sand, mud, snow, and spills—unlike the standard carpet mats that come with the vehicle. This complete set includes mats for the front seats, passenger area, back seats, trunk, frunk, and rear inner storage. Made from odorless rubber, these floor mats are both durable and easy to maintain—just hose them down and the dirt comes right off. The anti-slip backing ensures they stay firmly in place while driving.

3. Arachnid Wheel Covers

If you don't want to spend extra money on official Tesla wheels for the Model 3, consider these reasonably priced 18" Arachnid wheel covers for your stock wheels. These hub caps have completely transformed my car's overall look and aesthetic. The design makes the car look sportier and more aggressive from the side profile. The wheel covers come with foam protectors that fit between the original wheel and cover, protecting the rims from scratches during regular driving. Thanks to these covers, my original wheels have survived several potential curb rashes over the years. Installation is straightforward—it takes about 20 minutes, and you simply need to firmly snap each cover into place on all four sides. These wheel covers are the best and most cost-effective way to customize your Tesla's exterior look!

2. Yoke Steering Wheel

Replacing your stock steering wheel with a Yoke Steering Wheel is one of the most impactful ways to upgrade your interior. Since the steering wheel is the accessory you'll look at most while driving, it's important to choose one that matches your style. I love this yoke's clean, sporty aesthetic. The quality and stitching craftsmanship are exceptional, and without the top half of a traditional wheel, visibility is significantly improved. It looks stunning from every angle. I chose the white nappa leather version, which feels sturdy and comfortable in hand. While it took a few days to adjust to turning at corners and intersections—initially requiring both hands for 90-degree turns—I eventually mastered one-handed operation. While the yoke steering wheel isn't for everyone, once you get used to it, it becomes a cherished accessory that makes it hard to return to a conventional steering wheel.

1. Hansshow LED Interior Ambient Lighting

This is the best upgrade I've made to my Tesla so far. These lights aren't your typical LED strips that simply stick onto the interior—they use laser carving technology for a seamless, futuristic look. They blend in so naturally with the Tesla's interior during the day that they appear factory-installed. Using the center console's touch screen, you can select from 128 different colors. The lights run through the dash, footwell, front and back side doors, and around both front seats. While the kit included illuminated speakers, I skipped installing them as they didn't match my aesthetic preferences. You can choose from six lighting effects from the center console touchscreen, but my favorite is a subtle mode that gradually transitions between colors. There's also a music mode that synchronizes the lights with your music's beat. Since I prefer professional installations for modifications, I had Tes Studios in Irvine, California install these lights along with my Yoke Steering Wheel. Though the purchase and installation were costly, the investment was worthwhile—the lighting has enhanced my nighttime driving experience and made it more enjoyable!

Final thoughts

Upgrading your Tesla with these carefully selected accessories not only elevates its look but also enhances your overall driving experience. Whether you're focused on protecting your interior, adding high-tech flair, or simply making your daily drives more enjoyable, these modifications transform your Tesla into a personalized, premium ride. Each accessory has been personally tested and selected based on quality, functionality, and seamless integration with the Tesla Model 3's design. Though some installations may require professional help, particularly for complex modifications like the LED lighting, the improvements to both daily driving experience and vehicle aesthetics make these accessories worthwhile investments for Tesla Model 3 owners.
