Moody, Modern Asian American Wedding at Sierra La Verne Wedgewood Weddings in La Verne, CA | Southern California Wedding Photographer

At the beginning of October, I got to photograph this moody modern wedding for Kelly & Aaron at the beautiful Sierra La Verne nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. Gothic and dark colors influenced Kelly’s wedding outfit while dark grey tones influenced Aaron’s wedding outfit. I can tell that Kelly was also influenced by her love for punk rock as she wore Doc Martins to the ceremony. Both bride & groom colors complimented each other very well creating a moody and modern atmosphere for the wedding. The stunning Sierra La Verne venue provided a picturesque backdrop, with its outdoor setting surrounded by a lake and forest.

After the wedding ceremony, we captured some couple portraits at the grand willow tree located near the lake. As this area is part of a country club, we used a golf cart to reach this secluded spot. This particular venue stands out from others due to its iconic view. The dark and moody ambiance of the willow tree complemented Kelly & Aaron's dark outfits beautifully. I really enjoyed the subtle touch of warm, golden light that is captured in some of the photos.

Even though Aaron is usually calm and down-to-earth, he let loose and had a great time during the dance party! Coming from a Filipino family, they have a knack for dancing and having a good time. Documenting the dance portion of a wedding has never been this enjoyable for me. Everyone was truly having the time of their lives, enjoying the music and grooving together.

Kelly & Aaron's wedding at Sierra La Verne was a remarkable event, filled with love, beauty, and unforgettable moments. I am honored to have been part of their special day, and I wish them a lifetime of happiness and love.
